How important is customer service to you?
Does good customer service make you a customer? What makes you return to a certain store or business?

- Customer Service is the key. The times that I have been the maddest and vowed to never return to a store (I followed through) was when customer service was thrown out the window and I was treated like dirt. Part of what I feel I am paying for in a good or service is customer service. Items are marked up so that a small percentage of that purchase can go to that sales person's salary/commission. They are getting paid to do a job, so they need to do it.
- it all depends on the store.... If I am going to walmart, I dont give a shyt about good customer service. I can pick my own items and check myself out. however, if I am at a 4 star or better hotel, I am paying for the experience and expect it. the same behavior that I would ignore at a walmart would be the basis of a formal complaint at the omni. so I guess it just depends
- I am a waitress and customer service is everything to me, from both sides of the fence. If I am able to give a customer a good experience, they are more likely to return. If I receive exceptional service, I am more likely to go back.
- I work at one of the Kroger foods grocery store and they really emphasize on us to give customer 1st service. It's very critical! The thing about customer service is that we're there to help you in anyway shape or form. We do what we can to satisfy your needs. Its not just one concept, it's many in one phrase. It's not just if someone helped you find something or not. It's how you're treated ex. at the cash register, the customer service desk, different departments of the store, how your treated by the managers; supervisors, etc...It is the service that makes someone return to that store or that business. Generally if you have had a bad experience at a store or business you won't return;generally. People come back to our store still, even if they made bad remarks about the service and what nots. I don't know if that's what you were looking for.
- I think that services such as local business like veterinarians, doctor's offices, convienient stores, dog groomers, pet shops, hair salons, restaurants etc. is where the customer services are really important because they are smaller businesses and you can kinda see the disposition the employees have for their cutomers since there is less employees and you have plent y of options to pick from. Say for example, wal mart (or stores like walmart) probably has good and bad employees. Since the store is huge you cant expect to get good customer service just because they work there. I have had some terrible service at wal mart.
- Good customer service is extremely important to me. I will not return to a store if I am treated badly by the employees. I am older and am from the generation where the 'customer is always right', and you do what you can to make the customer happy. When I go into a store or shop, I feel that what I spend is helping to pay the wages of the employee or helping to keep the business open. If I can not get good customer service and assistance, then they obviously do not need my money and I can choose to spend it where I am more appreciated as a customer.
- Customer service is a biggie in my book. I will go someplace further away or someplace that costs a little bit more if I get better customer service. I think it has to do partially with the fact that I've been there. I've worked those kind of jobs. Just like Shannon J, I worked at a Kroger company (I worked at Dillon's, but it's the same company) and customer service was a HUGE issue there, especially in my department, I worked in the "Customer Service" desk. I also worked tech support for an internet service provider, and again, customer service was a huge focus there as well. I also try to go out of my way and tell the manager about someone who does an excellent job providing customer service. I know a lot of times the managers only hear the bad things, so I want to let them know about something good for once.
