Customer Service Knowledge Base
Customer service? I work at a fast food restaurant and I seriously lack customer service. I sometimes do a cashier but I get awkward with almost every customer, and they become awkward with me too. It's really stressful and embarrassing. Many customers also have a little hard time hearing what I'm saying, because my voice quality is what's not easy to hear. I feel like I'm an amateur staff at this restaurant. What's worse is that English is my second language. I usually pronounce some words weirdly, or mix up sentences. Sometimes I can't think right away what would be appropriate/professional things to say to a customer. My question is, how can you transform from an amateur to a professional?
Does anyone know of good customer service rep jobs, or work at home jobs? I am looking for quality customer service or any work-at-home jobs. I do not want to pay to get the information. Why should you pay for a job? I do not want any gimmicks or frauds. I know I am asking a lot. Yet, there must be good companies looking for employees to do customer service reps who can work at home. Again, I am not looking for something that I have to purchase to buy a list or anything. Thanks.
Does Verizon have the worst customer service or what? I just switched all my cable, internet and phone to Verizon FIOS. The technology is great, but I've had nothing but headaches from their customer service. They screwed up switching my phone number, so I have a temporary phone number for 3 weeks until they can straighten it out. I've had to call the customer service line for other issues and have had extremely long wait times, got transfered to other reps all over the place, and just plain attitudes from them. Anyone else have bad service from Verizon? I used to think AT&T had the worst customer service but now Verizon has taken the number one spot!
What does a customer service rep in the insurance industry do? I have quite a bit of customer service experience in my background - and I have just applied for a customer service position for an ins. co. The ad said no experience was required, just a strong cust service background. I am trying to prepare for a possible interview, and wondered if anyone could fill me in on what could be some of the resp. of the position. Thanks!
Answering customer service enquiries in the freight and logistics industry? I do customer services in the freight and logistics industry and sometimes customers ring up and ask (and sometimes not politely) where their shipment is. What do I say to them that will a) keep them satified and b) keep me happy at the end of the day? Any websites to overcome this problem?? What rights as a customer service representative do I have?
How do you successfully customer service? In most lines of work, customer service inevitably becomes a part of job. I believe, the statistics is that the more customer servicing is involved the higher the turn-over rate. However, in most cases, you can't quit your job because you don't like people who have to help out at work. What are your experiences and feelings about "customer service" at your job? If you feel, you are managing it well enough, what mindset do you use for customer servicing? Let me further ask, do you feel your success at customer servicing is affected by your ethnicity?
What does it take to be a customer service consultant? I have worked in customer service for over 10 years. I feel that I know what it takes to motivate agents and increase the quality (and quantity) of customer service. Is there anymore that I would need to get the business off the ground, such as a formal education?
How do I make bad customer service public? I have had several bad customer service experiences with a local grocery store and no results from complaints to managers or corporate. How do I go about making it public so other consumers are aware of these issues? How do I go about contacting local media and get results?
What company has the best customer service experience? Three questions: 1) What company anticipates your needs, provides excellent customer service, information, etc? 2) What specifically makes them superior (call center has the right answers, knowledgeble employees, good return policy, quick repair, in home repair provides good time windows for service, etc, etc.) 3) What does it feel like to be a customer there? Why keep coming back?
What is the worst customer service you received? My worst customer experience was about three years ago when I tried to help my father cancel his America Online service. I was transferred to the "cancellation department" and I had to wait on hold for over 15 minutes, finally when it seemed someone was going to pick up, the line would drop, and I had to do it all over again... Needless to say after 20 calls and speaking to over 10 different reps and supervisors I had to write a letter to AO cooperate office and threaten law suit. After about 6 months, I finally got service disconnected and compensated, but talk about a f$*$* nightmear.
Some suggestions to make sure that in a customer service business everyone does their fair share? We work in a customer service industry where customers need to be greeted immediately upon entry and 5-6 employees are available to take these customers. Yet nobody does their fair share of work. Everyone tries to avoid taking a customer, and this has become a problem. Nobody does their fair share of work and the "line's" work is unequal. There is no sense of team work, and everyone just sort of worries about themselves. What are some methods we can use to make sure that everyone is on the same page, some ways to motivate people in taking customers, helping customers, not just dreading the fact that they have to be at work, and make sure that the employees understand the necessity of team work in order for everyone to be unhappy. Nobody is happy, and this needs to change. What are some steps that can be taken to transition into a smoother environment for the employees so that in turn the customers can be happier and be serviced more professionally.
What to do about poor customer service in airlines/buses? I, for one, am getting extremely frustrated and impatient with crowded planes and buses, rude personnel (especially in Greyhound), long delays and fewer routes and less frequent schedules. What would you advocate to make the airline and bus industry, as a whole, more efficient, less crowded and provide better customer service and better routes?
How do I contact Yahoo customer Service for a unauthorized bank transaction ? I have tried several ways to call customer service in Yahoo - and all I get is the mail box is full and cannot leave a message. I have a bank transaction that Yahoo Music has taken with out any authorization. I should be able to re-new my subscription or cancel it. MY OPTION. Instead Yahoo just does it and then there is no way to contact them. How do I cancel this subscription to Yahoo Music and get my money back ? I am totally pissed off.

What should we do to make customer service in USA better? I'm sure we all have stories to tell about bad customer service, it seems it's getting worse year after year, I'm wondering what are some of your expiriences? Have you done anything about it? I'm talking about every and any business that offers goods or services. We seem to forget that power is in the hands of consumers, after all, it's our money they're after.
